Introduction to Engineering Course

The Math and Science Departments at RE are excited to offer a new team-taught, interdisciplinary course this year. "Introduction to Engineering", was developed and is instructed by Jean Duty (Math Dept.) and Robert Dubard (Science Dept.). The course is designed to study science topics, such as mechanics and electricity, while using high school mathematics as the solving tool. Specifically, trigonometry, applied derivatives and integrals, Boolean Algebra, data analysis, and elementary programming are discussed. Unlike other math courses, Introduction to Engineering has a lab period once a week.

Our students have a unique opportunity at RE to take a course like this. Pre-requisites are Pre-calculus, Biology, and Chemistry. Students interested in taking this course next year should speak with Mrs. Duty or Mr. Dubard.
